Canon World
The Greek gods exist, they've moved to the top of the Empire State Building, and they're still having lots of kids with mortals. These little demigods are sniffed out by satyrs and brought to a secret training camp called Camp Half-Blood, where they learn to fight, immerse themselves in all kinds of Greek myth, and sometimes go on dangerous quests. Mostly, though, they end up as pawns in their parents' seemingly endless feuds, plots, and wars. So, basically, not much has changed since 300 BC.
The gods tend to be absent parents at best, and this is a huge theme, especially in the first series. It nearly causes the end of the world, as frustrated demigods, many of them still unclaimed by their godly parent, decide to join up with Luke in the plot to overthrow the Olympians. Another theme that comes up is the struggle of identity, as demigods are forced to exist between two worlds. Almost nobody in the mortal world knows that the gods are real, but it doesn't stop demigods from being attacked by monsters or dealing with the Olympians and their never ending issues. And if they live long enough, eventually most demigods will have to leave camp either to go to college or to make a name for themselves in the mortal world some other way. This is what Clarisse is up to at her current canon point.

‣ Clarisse is born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. At age 10 or 11, she gets picked up by the satyr Gleeson Hedge and taken to Camp Half-Blood, where she ends up living year round.
‣ By book one, Clarisse is acting head of the Ares cabin. When Percy Jackson arrives at camp, they basically become instant enemies after Clarisse tries to dunk him head-first into a toilet and later Percy breaks her spear and fights her dad. Boooo.
‣ That summer, it's also revealed that a well-liked and highly respected counselor from the Hermes cabin, Luke, has betrayed the gods and is planning on raising Kronos an army to defeat them and take over the world. Many of the demigods from Camp Half-Blood defect to join him.
‣ The next year Clarisse is given her First Quest Ever, to sail across the Sea of Monsters and retrieve the Golden Fleece. Percy ends up crashing the quest, and Clarisse begrudgingly ends up working with him in order to bring the Fleece back to camp.
‣ That winter, Clarisse is away on a secret mission in the Labyrinth. She ends up finding a friend named Chris, who's defected from camp and been driven insane inside the Labyrinth, and brings him back to camp where she tries to nurse him back to health. She's still doing this when summer rolls around again, as well as helping research the Labyrinth and preparing for a big battle, which takes place at the end of summer. Dionysus cures Chris's insanity, and Clarisse and Chris start dating.
‣ On Clarisse's 15th birthday, she's given the task of driving her father's war chariot, but it's hijacked and hidden by her godly half-brothers Phobos and Deimos. Clarisse ends up needing to work with Percy again to get it back, and the two of them finally admit that they're friends.
‣ The Ares and Apollo cabins join forces for a raid on Kronos's forces, but they can't agree on which cabin deserves to claim the flying chariot they capture in the raid. Clarisse is so upset that she orders her fellow Ares cabinmates not to fight in the upcoming battle for Olympus against Kronos. She doesn't back down on this despite multiple people attempting to convince her to change her mind.
‣ During the battle, while Clarisse forces her siblings to sit out, her best friend Silena puts on Clarisse's armor and pretends to be her in order to get the other Ares kids to join the battle. It doesn't end well, and Silena's death is what finally gets Clarisse to join the fight as well. The Olympians win the war against Kronos, and things go back to normal for approximately two seconds.
‣ The next year is mostly focused on another impending war, this one between two factions of demigods (Greek and Roman) and also the goddess Gaea's plan to overthrow Olympus... again. Clarisse spends this year at camp, prepping the campers for the fight to come.
‣ After all this, Clarisse willingly gives up her position as head Ares counselor in order to go to college at the University of Arizona and try to live a somewhat normal life.
Personality
When Gleeson Hedge recalls his trip across the country with a ten or eleven year old Clarisse, he describes her as: “Violent. Rude. Lots of potential.” And that… pretty much sums it up. Clarisse is a child of Ares through and through—a strong, capable leader, but somebody with a stubborn streak and penchant for pissing people off. She never backs down from a challenge, but she also takes things too personally, hates being proven wrong, and holds grudges, which means she finds potential fights in situations that many others would let roll off their backs.
She finds expressing her feelings difficult (unless those feelings are anger), and often rubs people the wrong way, especially at first. Getting her to admit she’s made a mistake is like pulling teeth, and she finds it incredibly hard to ask for help or to thank people when help is offered to her. Most of Clarisse's issues with feelings and being vulnerable stem from her fraught relationship with her father and the fact that she grew up leading the Ares cabin, which is a total boys' club. Clarisse's worst fear is her father Ares, who presents as a violent misogynist in the series, and she often struggles with feeling inadequate and unworthy when it comes to him. In so many ways, Clarisse has been set up to fail, and so it’s no surprise that in her effort to prove everybody wrong, she overcompensates, puts on a front, and ends up looking like a jerk.
Clarisse does have a lot of potential. She’s a strong military leader even at a young age, and extends loyalty and care toward her soldiers. She’s also compassionate and protective of the people she cares about, which is obvious in her actions, even if she doesn’t call attention to it—because god forbid anybody know she has Actual Feelings. She spends months trying to nurse her friend Chris back to health after their experiences in the Labyrinth, to the point where she’s spending all her time with him when she isn’t patrolling, and has to be ordered to start taking breaks. She’s also been seen working cooperatively with campers from other cabins in strategy games and during the year she was helping Annabeth research the Labyrinth (during this time she even advises somebody not to jump into a fight), so she’s certainly capable of chilling out and working with others, if she thinks the outcome is worth it.
Strengths & Weaknesses
+/- Like all demigods, Clarisse has natural battle reflexes and the ability to read and speak ancient Greek. But because life's not fair, these abilities come with a downside: because her brain and body are hardwired to be ready for battle at any moment, Clarisse often seems restless and preoccupied and (like most demigods) has been diagnosed with ADHD. She also has dyslexia because her brain is meant to be reading ancient Greek.
+ Clarisse is proficient in all kinds of different weapons. She favors her spear, but she can pick up just about anything.
+ Clarisse is a super skilled warrior, especially in hand-to-hand and wrestling. She has some extra strength and speed on top of her demigod battle reflexes that make her a formidable enemy.
+ Children of Ares are able to call down curses on weapons, such as temporarily turning arrows to rubber, but this seems to be a pretty limited ability, and is one that Clarisse herself doesn't use much.
+ The losing side of every war owe a debt to Ares, giving Clarisse the ability to summon ghostly soldiers who will defer to her as if she's their commanding officer. (See nerfs section below.)
- Clarisse is super stubborn and prideful. She hates to look weak, and will refuse to back down on things even when she's wrong about them. In canon she basically decides to sit out on a huge battle because she feels like she hasn't been given what she's owed, and it leads to multiple people dying, including her bestie.
- Though she's knowledgeable about war tactics and strategy, Clarisse prefers to slice and dice her way through problems and doesn't spend much time planning things out beforehand. Leave that to the Athena kids. She's also not sneaky at all, like one time she provoked a cyclops to sink the ship she was sailing away in because she simply couldn't resist taunting him. The cyclops was blind, and literally the only reason he was able to sink the ship is because Clarisse wouldn't SHUT UP for five seconds, so he knew exactly where to aim.
Suggested Nerfs
Because she'll be in a totally different universe, and thus won't be able to pray to her father for aid of any kind, I'd like to completely nerf Clarisse's summoning power. It's implied that the ghost soldiers are really an Ares perk that he just kind of lets his kids use when they need to, and not something innate in her, so it would make sense for this ability to just not work at all in Thedas.

Fit
I think it will be fun to explore Clarisse in a world that's totally removed from everything she's familiar with, where the godly side of her family straight up doesn't matter, and where any progress she makes she'll have to work for totally on her own. Because so much of Clarisse's personality is centered around getting her father's approval, it will be an opportunity for her to decide who she actually wants to become without fear of his judgment.
Also, Clarisse is coming from a world where she was deeply entrenched in a lot of ancient traditions and beliefs, but at the same time part of a totally modern world, so I think it will be fun to see how she acclimates in Thedas and who she gets along with.
